HDR widens the display's vocabulary of light: brights that genuinely dazzle, blacks that hold, and the range between them delivered rather than simulated. On screens that speak it, a candle in darkness stops being a grey compromise and becomes an event.

On screens ready to show it is the honest qualification: the pipeline is only as tall as its shortest member, capture, grade, encoding and display must all agree, and web delivery still frequently does not. Practically, we master wide and deliver to the standard range with intent, treating HDR as headroom for the future rather than a promise to today's audience.
