Iconography

A family of small symbols drawn to one logic. Icons fail the moment they stop looking like siblings.

An icon set is a typeface of pictures: one stroke weight, one corner radius, one level of detail, one way of seeing, repeated across every subject. The logic is the design; individual icons are just words in it.

Sets fail by adoption, one icon borrowed here, another improvised there, until the family is a crowd of strangers. We draw every icon on the same grid at the size it will be used, then test the set as a group. If a new icon cannot be mistaken for a sibling, it is redrawn.
