Algorithm
The unseen editor of the feed: ranking machinery deciding who sees what, optimised for its owner's goals, not yours.
Every feed is edited; the algorithm is simply an editor with different loyalties. It ranks by predicted response, watch time, taps, shares, because those serve the platform's economics, and every maker publishing into it is negotiating with an editor they will never meet and whose tastes shift without notice.
The working stance is respect without servitude: understand what the machinery rewards, first seconds, completion, conversation, and let craft satisfy those honestly, but never redesign the work's soul around a ranking signal. Algorithms change; bodies of work remain. Feeding the machine is a tactic, and only owned channels are policy.
