Blocking is meaning written in floor space: who approaches, who retreats, who holds ground, who turns away. The audience reads distance and orientation as feeling long before dialogue confirms it, which makes blocking the layer of performance that works even with the sound off.

Disguised as behaviour is the craft: the moves must look like living, not choreography, while hitting light and lens exactly. Watch great scenes muted and the story still plays, in geometry. The same grammar runs through design: on a page, what stands close, what faces what, and what turns away is layout, which is blocking for still worlds.
