Body copy
The running text beneath the headline, for the minority who continue, the ones deciding. Written plainly, set legibly, respected.
Body copy serves the qualified audience: whoever passed the headline is now genuinely considering, and what they need is substance, specifics, proof, answers to the unasked objections. Padding insults exactly the people most likely to act; density without order loses them.
The craft is structure and sentence hygiene: front-load each paragraph, one thought per sentence where the going is complex, concrete nouns over abstractions. And typography is half of it, measure, leading and size make the same words feel effortless or exhausting. Body copy is where trust is either earned in detail or lost in vagueness.
