Broadcast
Sending one signal to many at once, on someone else’s schedule. The old grammar of media, still shaping how the new one behaves.
Broadcast is one signal, many receivers, one clock: everyone sees the same thing at the hour the sender chose. That scarcity built the shared culture the feed later dissolved, and its grammar, schedules, slots, the appointment, still shadows media that no longer needs it.
The old grammar shapes the new: premieres, drops and live events are broadcast's appointment logic smuggled into on-demand, because simultaneity still manufactures occasion. When we stage a release, the question is explicitly broadcast-shaped: does this work want to arrive everywhere at once, or accumulate on its own clock?
