Colour pipeline

The managed path colour travels from lens to screen: capture profile, working space, grade, delivery transform. One chain, or chaos.

Colour survives production only if every stage agrees on what the numbers mean: the camera records in its log profile, the edit works in a defined space, the grade shapes within it, and a final transform translates for each destination. Break the chain anywhere and every screen becomes its own opinion.

The pipeline is invisible when it works, and its absence has a signature look: the film that seemed rich in the suite arriving grey on the web, the client's monitor disagreeing with the colourist's. Managed colour is unglamorous configuration, profiles, tags, calibrated displays, and it is the difference between our gold and approximately some yellow.
