Community

The audience talking to each other, not only to you. Belonging as the product's second life, and the brand's strongest moat.

An audience receives; a community exchanges. The difference is structural: when the people who chose you begin recognising each other, trading knowledge, defending the work in your absence, the brand has become a place rather than a broadcast. Places retain; broadcasts must re-win every day.

Communities cannot be extracted from audiences by tooling alone, a forum is not a community, it is a room. What convenes people is shared identity or shared practice, and the brand's role is host, not owner: set the table, feed the conversation, accept lost control. The moat is real precisely because it cannot be bought, only grown.
