Anticipation

Desire cultivated before the thing exists: the teaser, the date, the held breath. Attention arriving early, on purpose.

Anticipation converts an audience from recipients into waiters: the trailer, the announced date, the glimpse withheld, each builds a pressure that release then spends. Cinema industrialised the craft, and its grammar, tease, silence, reveal, transfers to any launch with a story worth waiting for.

The discipline is a ratio: anticipation borrows against the delivered experience, and over-borrowing is how magnificent campaigns produce disappointed audiences. Tease only what the work will honour. Our own In development markers are anticipation at its quietest, a recording light instead of a drumroll, the promise sized to what is actually coming.
