Launch

The public beginning of a thing, staged for a first wave of attention. You get one; spend it on a promise you can keep.

A launch converts novelty into attention, once. The world grants a brief window in which being new is itself the story, and everything about the staging, timing, first audience, first sentence, determines what that window deposits. There is no relaunch of a first impression.

Spend it on a promise you can keep is the operative clause: the launch writes a cheque the following months must cash, in front of the largest audience the brand may ever have at once. The stage-managed part matters less than the readiness behind it. A modest launch of a finished thing outlives a spectacular launch of a wish.
